Veteran actor Lorrae Desmond received her Order of Australia medal this week, courtesy of Queensland’s Governor, Paul de Jersey.
She was recognised in Australia Day honours in January.
Seven News cameras were there at Gold Coast as the former A Country Practice star was honoured.

So sad to hear this today. Lorrae was a remarkable woman, straight talking, spirited, full of wisdom and always up for a laugh. And such good fun to be around. Much love to all her family and ACP extended family. She will be missed xx
Well deserved. Sadly, Lorrae is no longer with us. RIP Lorrae.
A few months ago she was interviewed on ‘A Country Podcast’, was good to see and hear that she’s still going strong, remembering a lot from the show and her career prior.
Congrats!
