Renewed: Floor is Lava

Cray-cray game show is getting a second Netflix season.

Netflix has renewed its game show Floor Is Lava for a second season.

The series will go into production later this year and return in 2022.

Variety reports Rutledge Wood will be returning to host the show as more contestants leap over obstacles and trying to avoid falling into the  faux“lava” as they try to get to the other side of each treacherous room.

The game show popped on Netflix when it premiered in June 2020, just a few months into the COVID-19 pandemic that confined millions to their homes.

According to the streamer, 37 million Netflix member households tuned into the series’ first season in its first four weeks on the service.

  1. The problem with the show was that it was psuedo reality challenge TV. You’d notice in the editing mats and other stuff suddenly appear and disappear. So whatever was happening with them doing the course in the timelimit was somewhat staged and different to how it was presented. Once you notice that, eh.

  2. Generally love shows of this genre but this added absolutely nothing to it. Was pretty poor and repetitive – once you’d seen one team tackle the course you’d seen them all.

  3. OMG yes! This show was actually one of my surprise favourites last year and I’m beyond delighted that it’s coming back sometime next year! 🙂
