The EE British Academy Television Awards are renowned for welcoming and honouring an impressive line-up of stars and recognises programmes from the year’s small screen, with reality shows, soaps and dramas all recognised.

Steve McQueen’s BBC and Amazon drama Small Axe dominated the headlines with 15 nominations while The Crown was next in line with 10. There were good showings for BBC/HBO’s I May Destroy You which is up for eight prizes, and BBC/Hulu series Normal People which has seven. Aussie comedian and host of The Last Leg Adam Hills has been nominated in the Entertainment Performance category alongside comedians Graham Norton and David Mitchell.

Update: UKTV now advises it will not be screening this event.
