There’s a fair bit of Queen on TV this week with Nine screening Bohemian Rhapsody tomorrow night and repeating Show Must Go On special tonight.

But ABC will debut UK factual series A Life In Ten Pictures on Thursday with Freddie Mercury as the first subject.

The series endeavours to reveal secrets by those who know their stories best, through a handful of images, from iconic shots to private snaps.

Others to feature include John Lennon, Elizabeth Taylor, Tupac Shakur and Muhammad Ali.

Freddie Mercury’s image is known around the world. He was one of the most photographed men in history. But could just a handful of photos uncover new truths about someone we think we all know? This documentary throws a unique lens onto an extraordinary life, focusing on ten defining pictures – from iconic shots to private snaps – with their secrets revealed by those who were there and those who knew Freddie Mercury best.
