Airdate: Creamerie

3 women who run a dairy farm accidentally run over the last surviving male on the planet, on SBS VICELAND.

2021 New Zealand comedy Creamerie is coming to SBS VICELAND next week.

Eight years after a plague killed all men, three women who run a dairy farm accidentally run over the last surviving male human on the planet.

The cast includes Ally Xue, J.J. Fong, Perlina Lau, Sara Wiseman and Jay Ryan.

It begins with a double episode and you can check out the trailer here.

Episode One:
Jamie, Pip and the Hiro Valley women honour and celebrate V Day, marking eight years since the virus wiped out all men in the country. Jamie is thrilled when her number finally comes up in the ‘sperm lottery’, meaning that she might be lucky enough to be inseminated from the precious pool of pre-virus sperm and finally have a child to fill the gaping hole left in her life after losing her husband and son.

Episode Two:
Arguments flare as Pip, Jamie and Alex decide what to do with the Man (Bobby). Pip wants to hand him over to the wellness authorities right now – and harbouring a man is an offence punishable by Perm. Alex insists on keeping Bobby, and Jamie is on the fence – he could hold the answers to many questions about the past, but if they don’t turn him in, they will be in big trouble.

Tuesday, 25 May at 9.25pm on SBS VICELAND.

  1. Sounds rather like ‘The Last Man On Earth ‘, currently screening in repeats on SBS 2 during the week (although it’s a pretty common idea in general in sci fi books, films and TV).

  2. The 1974 British comedy film ‘Percy’s Progress’ or is it Last Man on Earth revisited?, we all know that that concluded series lasted a lot longer than most imagined, even when the ambitions of American producers are taken into consideration.
I cant imagine Creamerie will receive the same US budget, but Kiwis are known for their down to earth comic flair so there should be a few laughs.
