Eurovision bookies favour France, Italy, Malta.

Here's how the bookies see things after rehearsals.

France, Italy and Malta are leading the betting to win the Eurovision Song Contest, according to the bookies.

They are followed by Iceland, Switzerland and Bulgaria.

If the bookies are correct, Australia would not qualify from Semi Final 1 on Wednesday, given less than 1% chance of winning the contest overall.

39 countries are competing with 26 in the Grand Final. Personally I’m leaning towards Malta and Iceland….

1 France Barbara Pravi – Voilà 20%
2 Italy MÃ¥neskin – Zitti e buoni 17%
3 Malta Destiny – Je Me Casse 14%
4 Iceland Da̡i & Gagnamagni̡ Р10 Years 8%
5 Switzerland Gjon’s Tears – Tout l’univers 7%
6 Bulgaria Victoria – Growing Up Is Getting Old 7%
7 Cyprus Elena Tsagrinou – El Diablo 4%
8 Ukraine Go_A – Shum 2%
9 Lithuania The Roop – Discoteque 2%
10 Greece Stefania – Last Dance 2%
11 Finland Blind Channel – Dark Side 2%
12 Sweden Tusse – Voices 2%
13 San Marino Senhit – Adrenalina 1%
14 Russia Manizha – Russian Woman 1%
15 Norway TIX – Fallen Angel 1%
16 Croatia Albina – Tick-Tock 1%
17 Portugal Black Mamba – Love Is On My Side 1%
18 Romania Roxen – Amnesia 1%

20 Belgium Hooverphonic – The Wrong Place 1%

28 Australia Montaigne – Technicolour <1%

  1. David, you’ve chosen 2 island countries as your favourites. How can they win with no bordering neighbours!?

I’d like to be proven wrong, but I won’t be holding my breath.

      1. Touche… I’d forgotten the politics, rules, etc… that have meant that Lebanon, Jordan and even Egypt have not participated.

Something something “island countries” (not counting the UK) 😉
