Nine has denied yanking 1960 movie Exodus from its 9GEM schedule last Saturday as being linked in any way to the current crisis in the Middle East.
In the film, Paul Newman stars as a a Jewish resistance fighter helping to rescue 600 Jews from detention camps in an attempt to save his people and establish a safe home for them.
It was scheduled to screen at 3:10pm last Saturday arvo, but a repeat of Elvis musical Frankie & Johnny, filmed in 1966.
A Nine spokesperson told The Australian the last-minute change had nothing to with the conflict in the Middle East.

Nice try Nine.. I knew something was wrong on the day and thought of the ME conflict
doh, paywall to the story. So what if any reason did they give for the switch?
If you need a laugh, I read the caption of this film and recorded it. I started watching it going – wow – that guy looks like Elvis. I sad there thinking, ‘no I can’t watch Elvis this this type of war movie’… only now it makes sense…
