Melbourne turns to news in snap lockdown

Ratings: Deja-vu for Melbourne. MasterChef tops entertainment shows on Thursday.

Melburnians know it all too well…. government press conferences will determine their fate for the week/s ahead.

Yesterday’s ABC News Mornings topped multichannels as the Victorian government confirmed a 7 day snap lockdown. Of the 178,000 metro viewers, 112,000 of them were in Melbourne, compared to just 17,000 in Sydney.

In primetime 7:30 also led its slot at 579,000 metro viewers then MasterChef Australia (557,000), Home & Away (from 7pm: 553,000 / 478,000), and Back Roads (482,000)

Later The Front Bar was 350,000 followed by Q+A (276,000) and Law & Order: SVU (258,000 / 203,000).

Thursday Night NRL was 387,000 across the network.

Nine network won Thursday -just- with 27.3% then Seven 27.2%, 10 19.6%, ABC 18.0% and SBS 7.9%.

Nine News (919,000 / 873,000) was best for Nine. A Current Affair was 642,000 then Hot Seat (451,000 / 280,000). RBT (206,000 in 3 cities) and Paramedics (190,000 across the network) followed.

Seven News was #1 at 986,000 / 959,000 for Seven. The Chase drew 524,000 / 324,000. 10 Years Younger in 10 Days was 153,000.

The Project drew 465,000 / 278,000 for 10 then 10 News First 3(41,000 / 224,000).

ABC News won its slot at 686,000. Sammy J was 304,000 then The Drum (182,000) and A Life in Ten Pictures (179,000).

SBS numbers were low at SBS World News (173,000 / 137,000), The Handmaid’s Tale (127,000), Secrets Of The Tower Of London (111,000), Michael Mosley: Trust Me I’m A Doctor (106,000) and Mastermind (67,000).
