Veronicas: “We signed on after they stressed a show with heart”

More tweets from singing sisters suggest a bit of disconnect around expectations...

I’m not sure if The Veronicas have watched many episodes of Celebrity Apprentice but their newest tweets do sound like they aren’t overly familiar with previous seasons.

It is, after all, the format that was once helmed by Donald Trump in the US, while Lord Alan Sugar is known for being equally blunt in the UK edition.

The Daily Mail also reports on a since-deleted tweet which said, “Celeb Apprentice making a comment that we ‘featured more heavily’ in upcoming eps -AKA the eps where we are given scripted drama, but the first eps where we tell out story / strategy win tasks were completely dismissed so the viewer only gets to see us as drama. As per usual.”

Usually reality show talent wait until a show has ended its run before they unleash, where the contract permits. But not always. Sometimes that can give the show more oxygen in the press, and sometimes the network hurries to shut it down.

Nearly as much drama going on as the boardroom….

  1. I thought they came off very well in the latest episode. Don’t know why they didn’t let someone else take over the cooking/prep for a while and go out to wow the customers as actual twins to promote and celebrate their Twins’ Special, though… Seems inane to complain about their edit as if the notion of reality tv editing was news to them; and at the same time say “everyone knows us fighting is part of our brand” – so what exactly is the problem then?! Are they not featured enough? Confusing.

  2. Line one, tweet two: Everyone knows us fighting is part of our brand

Says everything we need to know about this pair. They cause “drama” to keep their name in lights. There’s nothing entertaining about this pair at all.

Who remembers the “drama” on the qantas flight days before their MTV series went to air.

  3. It was odd, because I also thought they were going for a little more heart this season when the second episode opened with Whippa handing the $180,000 cheque over to his nominated charity after his win in episode one in an emotionally driven scene. This donation follow up seems to have been dropped for both subsequent episodes so far, maybe because of the far more tame values of $20,000 and $10,000.
