AFL long weekend on Seven

5 AFL matches across 4 days on Seven and 7mate.

AFL Round 13 marks the return of Thursday Night Football when premiership contenders Port Adelaide and Geelong squareoff at Adelaide Oval.

Seven’s coverage starts at 7.00pm AEST on Channel 7 and 7mate.

Over the next four days, Seven hosts the following AFL contests on Channel 7 and 7mate:

Sydney Swans v Hawthorn, SCG – 7.00pm AEST Friday
St Kilda v Adelaide Crows, Cazaly’s Stadium – 6.30pm AEST Saturday
West Coast v Richmond, Optus Stadium – 7.00pm AEST Sunday
Melbourne v Collingwood, SCG – 3.00pm AEST Monday

The AFL’s #1 commentary team will again lead Seven’s Round 13 coverage, this weekend featuring Brian Taylor, James Brayshaw, Hamish McLachlan, Daisy Pearce, Luke Hodge, Wayne Carey, Abbey Gelmi, Luke Darcy, Matthew Richardson, Jobe Watson, Jimmy Bartel, Chris Johnson, Jude Bolton, Jason Bennett, Mark Soderstrom and Xavier Ellis.

On Thursday night, Adelaide Crows AFLW superstar Erin Phillips will be at Adelaide Oval as part of Seven’s team for the Power-Cats clash.

Monday will also feature one of the biggest events of the AFL season, when the Big Freeze – the fundraiser founded by inspirational footy great Neale Daniher – returns to its traditional home at the MCG.

From 2.00pm AEST on Channel 7, fans across the nation can catch all the fun of Big Freeze 7 as 2021’s star-studded group of sliders braves the ice pool to raise money for the fight against MND, while alternative pop star G Flip will perform live from the MCG.

Jeff Farmer, Billy Brownless, Shane Crawford, Daisy Pearce, Craig Bellamy, Abbey Holmes, Ray Chamberlain, Russel Howcroft, Sharni Norder and Sarah Jones are already confirmed sliders. One of football’s biggest names will be unveiled as 2021’s final slider on The Front Bar, which this week moves to Wednesday night.

There will plenty of laughs as usual when Melbourne games record-holder David Neitz joins Mick Molloy, Sam Pang and Andy Maher at The Front Bar tonight, on Channel 7 and 7plus at 9.00pm in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth, and 11.45pm in Sydney and Brisbane. Neale Daniher and Bec Daniher will also drop in ahead of Big Freeze 7, along with Aussie comedy icon and long-time Demons supporter Rob Sitch.

  1. I cannot believe channel still has Luke Darcy as a “play by play” commentator. He is not quick to call therefore just says players names and they are a star or can do this or that. He has hardly any emotion in the call. People bag out BT, but at least you feel he is entertaining. Luke Darcy is a good special comments guy, but thats about it. I have the sound down for games he “calls”. I don’t not like the guy, but hate his commentary
