  1. That’s a very good result for ‘Foreign Correspondent’! Pretty spectacular cinematography and landscapes but the basic story has been well reported over the years.

  2. Really sad to see Australian drama doing so poorly. It remains a source of fascination to me that the world entered this golden age of TV drama (on both streaming and free to air services) in nearly every country over the last five years and it just seems to passed us by.
Obviously a range of factors including cost, local viewer disinterest, etc, play into this but English language drama always has the benefit of being saleable to other countries which is not something that episodes of tired reality formats can do.
We just seem to consider the short term rather than seeking to build international sales and develop program concepts well.
    Sigh…

    1. We did hit peak local drama, sometimes with 5 or 6 a night if I recall correctly. Pandemic has had an impact, loss of advertising, fragmentation etc. But we should also remember on Timeshifted it tops the list. Right now it’s hard to get crew although that’s with more than a few visiting productions.

      1. My partner and I watched the first episode on SBS on Demand, then we binged the rest straight after. Really good show. So maybe most viewers also did the same.
