All the Drama of ratings week

Ratings: Home & Away has had its best week in nearly a year, as Seven wins another ratings week.

Seven has picked up its eighth ratings week led by Seven News and AFL.

But Home & Away also had its best week since July 2020, averaging 616,000 metro viewers.

That was ahead of other local scripted titles Mad as Hell (567,000), Jack Irish (521,000), Doctor Doctor (440,000), Sammy J (250,000), How to Stay Married (246,000), Superwog (166,000), Neighbours (112,000) and The Unusual Suspects (88,000).

Seven won the demos 16-39 and 25-54.

Seven won every night except Wednesday, held by Nine. ABC bettered 10 on Friday.

Seven again claimed Melbourne, Adelaide & Perth. Nine won Sydney & Brisbane.

Seven: Seven News (1.08m), Seven’s AFL (Fri: 651,000), Big Brother (Tues: 617,000) and Home & Away (616,000).

Nine: Nine News (Sun: 956,000), Celebrity Apprentice (Winner announced: 718,000), A Current Affair (687,000) and Travel Guides (647,000).

10: Have You Been Paying Attention? (660,000), MasterChef Australia (Wed: 590,000), The Project (7pm: 449,000) and 10 News First (349,000).

ABC: Four Corners (724,000), ABC News (671,000), Hard Quiz (664,000) and Australian Story (661,000).

SBS: Who Do You Think You Are? (294,000), Walking Hadrian’s Wall (202,000), On Board Britain’s Nuclear Submarine (182,000) and SBS World News (172,000).

  1. I think the dead body floating in the water was a hook for viewers and they were baited by the line and sinker.
    They haven’t had a who dunnit for a while.

    Production costs of Sammy J would be about 1% of those of How to Stay Married.
    And I’m guessing a lot more tax payer money went into the latter.

    1. A straight comparison is not that simple if you are talking investment. You’d need to look at all the playouts, all the catch-up, all the timeshifting, all the ad sales all the international sales. This is just an overnights snapshot.
