Diana titles for ABC, 10.

Two specials come to ABC and 10 to mark 60 years since Princess Diana's birth.

Both ABC and 10 have picked up new titles on Princess Diana to screen in the next fortnight.

Their broadcasts mark 60 years since her birth, 1 July 1961.

ABC has picked up UK special The Real Diana, to screen at 9:30pm next Tuesday.

60 years after she was born, we celebrate Diana’s life. A rich tapestry of footage, photos and letters piece together her incredible journey from shy teenage nursery assistant to finding her voice as the Princess of Wales.

10 has picked up three part series Diana’s Decades produced by UK prodco Spun Gold TV. The series covers Princess Diana’s life as a cultural influencer from her charity work to her marriage to Prince Charles.

Bethan Corney, MD of Silverlining, said: “Diana’s Decades immediately stood out as a series with strong international appeal.”

Spun Gold MD Daniela Neuman added: “Having worked with Bethan previously, we were confident that her team would be able to plug the substantial funding gap on the project and they rapidly came up with the goods, enabling us to provide a high-quality, bigger-budget series for both ITV and international buyers.”

It will screen from 7:30pm Wednesday July 7 as MasterChef narrows down to its final episodes.

    1. I guess with Diana being 10 when those who are 50 now were born, that would mean that they were 6 when she first met Charles in 1971 and 16 when the Marriage happened. Then 21 when the Marriage started to break up, 26 at her untimely passing so not under the realms of possibility that quite a few 50 and under would tune in. Those ages early on from say 6 to 16 may have appealed to that whole Princess vibe that excited many with Diana back then (likely encouraged by their families) and her work in and around AIDs patients would have put her up there with all the work to de-stigmatise the condition in the minds of many who are now 50 and under.

      1. That will be on SBS: The Secret Royal Family Files.

Though perhaps more along the lines of Queen Elizabeth being a shape-shifting reptilian lizard from outer space and Diana finding out about that hence her demise, probably hosted by David Icke.

I only half joke as well: express.co.uk/news/weird/768800/David-Icke-queen-shape-shifting-lizard
