  1. I too am confused. Hard Quiz is so popular and yet Weakest Link, the one that actually lets people play for money isn’t. I find the zingers fun, definitely not as mean spirited as the late Cornelia, but if she was too mean, people would be complaining that she’s too unlikeable and nasty

  2. I don’t understand the harsh negativity around The Weakest Link. There are many who genuinely want this to fail, however, it creates so many jobs, its filmed in Melbourne where so many shows seem to have moved interstate. Don’t get me wrong, everyone has an opinion, however many are so personal. Many find a show you like and say why you enjoy it so much.

    1. I don’t think that people want it to fail, it’s more they feel its been set up to fail. I certainly tried to watch but couldn’t get through it. Then I YouTubed the US version with Jane Lynch. So much better! Whatever theyre doing here is missing the mark, and there’s no doubt it will be cancelled at some point.

      What have they done wrong?
      1. Magda. Thats not a cheap shot, she’s a great comedian and talented. But this role isn’t her. She’s a lovable larrikin and just not believable as the “villain”. Cornelia did it well because she’d played it so often. Tom Gleeson also does it well. Kitty Flannigan probabaly could have made it work, Judith Lucy also could have delivered the zingers, not sure about the questions though.

      2. The tineslot. After 90 mins of Celebrity Apprentice, you want me to commit to another hour of a similar show? Far too late.

      3. The reverb on The…

  3. This once again shows the importance of a popular sport for tv networks. I wonder if Subscribers have increased for Stan since stan sport launched. in theory they should have more people subscribe for Tennis than for the Super Rugby, which i have enjoyed certainly the camera angles are different and better than the previous rights holder, reminds me a bit of NFL coverage.

  4. Well what’s Nine saying this week about The Weakest Link? Last week at 400,000 plus it was a triumph …as I predicted it dropped 100,000 plus in second episode …and as I thought it will be another one season wonder. Magda just ain’t got it for this role and whoever put her forward and whoever at Nine thought it was a great idea needs a cold shower!

  5. David-may I ask what ‘A Quiet Place’ did as a repeat on Ch13?-Obviously didn’t do anything much on the main channel last Saturday night, despite being new to FTA and a pretty recent and successful film. Thanks.

        1. Promotion is the key. I hardly see any promos for new movies anymore. Mainly generic promos for older movies yes that have a larger awareness but not this one.

  6. It’s funny how 500k is the new million at the moment. Weakest Link had the best lead in if the boardroom figure is right and people still switched off. I think it says it all really.

    1. It’s partly because there are 3 shows with dedicated followings BB, MCA and CA. Often it is one at the expense of the others. But yes Entertainment getting a million is now a challenge and seems to be reserved for finals.

  7. I may have had a glance at TWL last night but literally forgot it was even on.
Love On The Spectrum for me…and on that subject, someone needs to give Michael and his family a reality show!
