Marley, S.J. & Christina in Big Brother final

After winning the final challenge, Marley evicted a heart-broken Ari, sealing the Final 3.

After 63 days and 26 housemates, Ari, Christina, Marley and SJ have secured their place in the Big Brother finale.

Tonight in a Live finale, reframed under strict Sydney restrictions, one of them will win $250,000.

It’s the first time the Australian public will get to voice an opinion on just who they feel is deserving of the cash prize (bookmakers have Marley as the one to beat).

Last night in a gruelling final physical challenge, he won the power to evict the final housemate before the grand final. It was a decision he agonised over before finally sending resident ‘rat’ Ari on his way.

A crushed Ari hugged S.J. and Christina (whom he wants to win) but turned his back on Marley as he headed for the exit. Ouch.

“I am absolutely heartbroken,” said Ari. “I feel like I’ve stumbled at the last hurdle. Winning was everything to me. I’m such a competitive person and if I don’t win something I feel like a complete failure, so I’m absolutely gutted. I’m proud of myself for making big moves. I got rid of some huge players, I wasn’t scared to play a risky game and I won four challenges. I’m proud of that stuff but I’m so devastated that I have lost tonight.”

Many of the 2021 cast have gathered in Sydney, despite new restrictions, for a Live to air grand final hosted by Sonia Kruger. Voting continues here until tonight.

7:30pm tonight on Seven.

  1. I would love to see SJ win, but i think it will be Marley. If Danny was still there i would’ve loved to see him win, i think he’s one of the greatest BB players ever, (on a side note, if SJ won would she be the oldest BB contestant to win? i’m thinking maybe a celebrity on the UK version would be the closest but can’t think who)

This season was an interesting one, I’ve not been a regular watcher since the channel 10 days & this experience almost equaled that in enjoyability but in a very different way. Open discussion about nominations allowed and no live voting except on the finale. Not alot of in depth talk about the housemates personal lives, but heaps of strategy which is something i had not looked at much in the older seasons.

Taking into account it was a very different type of game because of the challenges of producing it during a pandemic, much kudos is due to the production team who did a great job. Congratulations 7!

  2. Happy that Marley won…Got rid of the right person. Ari was a crybaby…deserved to go after he got rid of Jess,Katie,Tilly & Danny. ..Good luck Marley hope you win

  3. I voted for Christina. She was a beast in those horrible challenges. She should apply to go on Survivor. Marley’s game is the sympathy vote with a lot of help from BB. For the life of me I can’t see SJ coming anywhere but 3rd but lay odds on her crying. Hope it’s an entertaning final. Good luck to them all.

    1. Funny that. Marley was the only one of the final four that wasn’t saved by a twist in evictions. Sarah and Ari were saved twice each. That’s why I voted for Marley.

  4. So sick of Marley saying he’s doing it for his Dad and because his Dad needs the money it makes him the most deserving! Sorry but your dad isnt on the show and hasnt entertained me so he isnt deserving..Marley has played safe and is bland.Ari was the pick for me, he was sneaky, conniving and wicked…and fun! In Ari’s absence christina has received 2 votes from our house.

    1. I fast forwarded through every part of anyone talking about their mum/dad/family etc. I can’t stand all that stuff, it’s like the backstory on The Voice/MKR/Ninja Warrior. It’s the most mind numbing element of shows that have nothing to do with a contestants family or loved ones.

    2. I see your point, but on the other hand, BB has always been about knowing who these people are, what they stand for, and how in a social experiment these meld. We used to get their views on all kinds of social issues (and it even led to conflict). Now it is closer to Survivor in a house. So I’d encourage more on their personal lives rather than the opposite.

      1. If they are gonna do it then it should be even coverage of all backstories amongst the remaining housemates. The producers have really pushed the ‘doing it for my dad’ angle. Even the promos leading up to last night used that sound bite for Marley. But does it really come as any surprise to anyone the producers are trying to manipulate the public into voting for the outcome they want!

      2. In a way that’s why I dont like it. They ignore so much of the personal stories and insight into their personal and family life in the daily shows until is suits the show in it’s storytelling. It isn’t dynamic where we see them sitting around and talking about it like the ch10 days. They wheel out the sob stories when it’s about winning a challenge (Jess and gran) or winning the show.

  5. The Producers practically handed Marley the win last night with that edit. Is it deserved? Probably not. He’s played a safe game, relying on bigger players to make bold moves. Does he seem like a decent guy though? Absolutely.

  6. Marley deserves to win as only one who wasn’t voted out by housemates and then saved by producers meddling!!!
Please change the voting format for next season back to all housemates nominating.
Maybe challenge winner nominates one person. Housemates then vote for other 2 with no discussion allowed as it was originally

  7. Going by social media, Marley will win by a landslide. Even by the edit, with the amount of focus he got in last nights episode, even the producers want him to win.

If he does – a good win for diversity, showing some progress at least!

Disappointed Ari didn’t acknowledge Marley on the way out. He lost his dignity there.

    1. Agree entirely with your comments. The exits from the compound were so pointed. I think Marley will be a deserving winner. Ari’s snub of Marley on eviction said everything about him. Not only undignified but indicative of how bald his ambition and strategising has been all the way. The rest of the housemates knew it, and the public has certainly witnessed it. I’m happy with the final 3.
