This week on The Living Room Amanda is in Newtown to find a shop helping refugees get a foot in the fashion industry.

Amanda visits an extraordinary shop in Sydney’s Newtown that has both flash and substance. ‘The Social Outfit’ is a social enterprise that exists to help refugees and new migrant women get a foot in the fashion door in Australia. Amanda is completely won over and vows to help raise the profile of this exciting and feelgood fashion house by throwing a fashion soiree! Barry gets involved by making a gift for the shop – a huge and ornate gold mirror.

Meanwhile Chris heads South to seek out the secrets of a fashion icon of the animal kingdom – the resplendent tuxedo-wearing Little Penguin! And Miguel finds himself in a unique bakery – The Bread and Butter Project which was set up to help new migrants and refugees train as bakers.

Then back at the house Amanda puts the boys on the catwalk and enlists fashion guru Deni to give them a primer on their past fashion crimes – before it’s all hands-on deck to make the Social Outfit soiree a smashing success!

7:30pm Friday on 10.
