60 Minutes this Sunday is a ‘special edition’ on British crime case, the abduction and murder of James Bulger.

“Unforgettable and Unforgivable”
Not only is it unforgettable and unforgivable, the abduction and murder of James Bulger remains unthinkable. How could two ten-year-old boys snatch a two-year-old toddler away from his mother in a busy shopping centre and savagely torture him to death? Three decades on, it’s a crime that continues to traumatise the world. On a special edition of 60 Minutes, British detectives who worked on the case tell the definitive inside story of their investigation, examining in forensic detail what happened on that tragic day, and how they tracked down the young murderers, Robert Thompson and Jon Venables. They also analyse audio tapes of the interviews they conducted with the killers and recount the chilling realisation that they were dealing with indescribable evil. As well, and for the first time, James Bulger’s three younger brothers, Michael, Thomas and Leon, speak publicly about the enormous loss their family has endured, and the impact this terrible crime has had on their mother, Denise Fergus.
Producers: Nick Broughall, Craig Chambers

8:30pm Sunday on Nine.

  1. I know this story Back-to-front & Inside-out but still watched every minute of this program.
Heart wrenching, heart breaking, unthinkable & just so terribly sad.
The thing I have never realised before though was just how evil these 2 ten year old murderers were/are.
Sagging, we call it wagging, school they were never going to be the brightest flowers in the garden but headed for a life of crime.
The pure evil that was heard during the tapes of them & the photo evidence of James’ injuries had me openmouthed in horror.
James’ Mum will forever regret going to the shops, calling into the Butchers’, letting go of the hand of a little tot full of energy & mischief, that day.
Thank you for showing such thorough insight from those who were there on the spot at the time.

  2. How many more times? Is James Bulger to 9’s 60 Minutes as Ivan Milat is to 7?. 2019 with ??, 2018 with Liam Bartlett, another with Derryn Hinch. And I probably missed a few.
