Another Simpsons prediction comes true

Richard Branson's trip into space was first referenced in 2014.

The Simpsons have done it again, managing to predict Richard Branson’s trip into space, years before it happened.

Back in 2014, Season 25 Episode 15, “The War of Art,” art forger Klaus Ziegler (voiced by the late Max von Sydow) boasts about his work to Lisa Simpson (Yeardley Smith), claiming that his forgeries “give pleasure to people all over the world.”

Numerous cutaways included Branson admiring a painting while floating in the interior of a spaceship.

Earlier this week the Virgin Galactic founder made his voyage into space, ensuring another prediction became a reality.

Over its three+ decades The Simpsons has predicted the 2003 Siegfried and Roy tiger attack, Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox and the presidency of Donald Trump -to name a few.

  1. Given that Virgin Galactic was founded in 2004, The Space Ship Company in 2005, and Branson publicly said he wanted to the first space tourist, this one wasn’t much of a get.

  2. Not really much of a prediction as Branson’s been working on the space joyride project for well over a decade now and has a penchant for doing risky adventure stuff like the power boats and balloon flights etc.

  3. Not so much a prediction – he founded Virgin Galactic in 2004 and in 2013 said he’d be on their first flight into space the following year. They were only 7 years behind schedule.
