Milly Alcock joins Game of Thrones prequel

Upright star has landed a recurring role as the young version of Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen.

Aussie Milly Alcock (Upright) has been cast in the upcoming Game of Thrones prequel series, House of the Dragon.

Alcock (The Gloaming, Les Norton, Pine Gap, A Place to Call Home), has landed a recurring role as the young version of Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D’Arcy), the king’s first-born child, “a child of pure Valyrian blood and a dragonrider. Many would say that Rhaenyra was born with everything, but she was not born a man.”

She joins British actor Emily Carey, who will play the young Alicent Hightower and previously-announced Emma D’Arcy as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, Matt Smith as Prince Daemon Targaryen, Steve Toussaint as Lord Corlys Velaryon, Oliva Cooke as Alicent Hightower and Rhys Ifans as Otto Hightower.

In 2018 Alcock was named a Rising Stars by the Casting Guild of Australia.

The 10 part series is due in 2022.
