Airdate: Nurses

New observational series is coming to Wednesday nights on Seven.

No surprises here, new observational series Nurses will screen on Wednesday nights ahead of RFDS on Seven.

The series is an ITV Studios Australia production with filming at St.Vincent’s Hospital and North Sydney’s Mater Hospital.

Save one life, you’re a hero. Save 100, you’re a nurse.

In this episode of Nurses, Emergency nurses Darren and Yoon have only just arrived for the nightshift when a woman is rushed in by ambulance in cardiac arrest. She has no heartbeat, so a trauma team gathers, hoping to revive her. Every second counts when a life hangs in the balance.

A few floors up from Emergency, in the Heart Lung Clinic, another patient is fighting to live – this time from terminal lung failure. UK-expat Chris was flown from Adelaide to St Vincent’s by the Royal Flying Doctor Service after donor lungs became available. Now it’s up to transplant coordinator Holly to retrieve the lungs from a donor hospital and give Chris a second chance at life. The stakes are high. If anything goes wrong on the retrieval mission, Chris won’t have long to live.

Over the Sydney Harbour Bridge, at the Mater Hospital, midwife Lucy has been called to assist in an emergency caesarean section after a woman went into labour before they could turn her breech baby. Lucy will need to act quickly if the baby’s oxygen supply is cut off during the risky birth.

7:30pm Wednesday August 18 on Seven.

  1. This should be a good series, we have had a few medical programmes of the years but we always forget how much our nurses do for us and think it will be a good insight to see how good they are.
