HBO miniseries Scenes from a Marriage, starring Oscar Isaac and Jessica Chastain will premiere on FOX Showcase in September, at the same time as the USA.
The five-part limited drama is written, directed and executive produced by Hagai Levi (The Affair), adapted from Ingmar Bergman’s 1973 Swedish classic television series, described as a captivating re-examination of the dilemmas posed by the original, exploring love, hatred, desire, monogamy, marriage and divorce.
Mira (Chastain) is a confident, ambitious tech executive left unfulfilled in her marriage, and Jonathan (Isaac) is a cerebral and accommodating philosophy professor desperate to keep their relationship intact. Throughout, Scenes from a Marriage mines the full complexity of Jonathan and Mira as individuals who ultimately know their marriage isn’t being torn apart by any one event or flaw, resulting in a radically honest series that allows the audience to eavesdrop on private conversations between two people torn between feelings of hate and love.
Oscar Isaac’s credits include Ex Machina, Star Wars: The Force Awakens and HBO series Show Me A Hero, for which he won a Golden Globe. Jessica Chastain’s credits include Interstellar, Zero Dark Thirty and The Help, which earned her an Academy Award nomination. Scenes from a Marriage marks Chastain’s first starring role in a television series.
Scenes from a Marriage is exclusive in Australia to the Foxtel Group.
Monday, September 13 at 11.00am AEST on FOX Showcase. Binge is yet to advise.

Is this going to be another Limited Series that gains momentum and picks up viewers throughout its “intentioned” short run before announcing plans for a S2?
