Friday Flashback: Ernie Sigley Show live from Pentridge

In 1975 Ernie Sigley brought his own brand of variety TV to the inmates at Pentridge Prison.

The late Ernie Sigley was one of a kind, a Live TV natural and a man of the people.

In what must surely have been a TV first, The Ernie Sigley Show broadcast live from Pentridge Prison in 1975.

It was an episode of The Mick Molloy Show where Tony Martin presented clips from the variety special.

The cast of Prisoner later filmed a concert special inside Pentridge in 1981.

Politically incorrect humour may offend!

  1. Reminds me of the Simpsons episode that first introduces Sideshow Bob’s brother Cecil. It begins with Krusty the Clown presenting his show from prison.
