TVNZ has picked up rights to Beauty And The Geek Australia.

The series produced by Endemol Shine Australia will premiere on TVNZ 2 and TVNZ OnDemand later this year following a deal with Banijay Rights.

Meanwhile Bell Media in Canada is among a raft of buyers to acquire SBS drama The Unusual Suspects.

The heist drama produced by Aquarius Films’ Angie Fielder and Polly Staniford has also sold to Rialto in New Zealand, OCS in France, Filmin in Spain, AMC Networks International Southern Europe in Spain and Portugal, and Streamz and Proximus in Belgium.

Hulu also also recently acquired the series for the USA.

  1. David, does this mean TVNZ will be making their own series of Beauty and the Geek for NZ, or is it just the TV rights to screen the most recent season of Beauty and the Geek Australia?
