US actress, best known for Night Court, The Fall Guy and Chicago PD, has died.

US actress Markie Post, best known for Night Court, The Fall Guy and Chicago PD, has died aged 70.

She died on Saturday following a four-year battle with cancer.

“Our pride is in who she was in addition to acting; a person who made elaborate cakes for friends, sewed curtains for first apartments, and showed us how to be kind, loving, and forgiving in an often harsh world,” a family statement read.

Post featured as as bail bondswoman Terri Michaels in The Fall Guy alongside Lee Majors from 1982 to 1985, public defender Christine Sullivan on Night Court, from 1984 – 1992. She also featured as Georgie Anne Lahti Hartman on Hearts Afire with John Ritter from 1992 to 1995.

Other TV credits include CHiPs, The Incredible Hulk, The District, Scrubs, The Kids Are Alright, Barnaby Jones, Simon & Simon, The Greatest American Hero, The A-Team, The Love Boat, Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, and as recurring character Barbara ‘Bunny’ Fletcher in the first four seasons of Chicago P.D.

Her film credits include playing Cameron Diaz’s mother in There’s Something About Mary, plus Glitz, Camp Cool Kids and Muffin Top: A Love Story.
