Bella Taylor Smith wins The Voice 2021

23yo Sydney singer caps off Seven talent series with a recording contract & $100,000 prize.

23 year old Bella Taylor Smith has won The Voice 2021, bringing the Seven series to a close.

After performing Never Enough, and The Prayer with coach Guy Sebastian, she wins $100,000 and an EMI recording contract.

The Sydney-based church singer defeated fellow grand finalists Arlo Sim, G-Nat!on and Mick Harrington.

“I really can’t believe it. I’m so thankful. I can’t wait to see what incredible things are ahead for me. I’m really grateful for you [coach Guy], for everyone who voted and for my beautiful family who I love,” she said.

Coach Guy Sebastian added, “I’m so proud. There are so many deserving people up there, but you are special Bella, go out there and kill it, I know you will.”

Her new single Higher was performed at the end of the show.

Seven’s talent series, famously signed after Nine let go of the series, has become the biggest show of 2021 with ever episode rating over a million metro viewers.

  1. Well deserved winner. From the blinds it was pretty clear she would be the favourite for the season. Will she be the one to break The Voice mould when it comes to selling records? Who knows….Sian was my favourite but Rita didn’t bring her to the final…it happens. So many favourites fell during the cuts. What i will say is The Voice was seriously great this season. Talent wise was the best ever but the format on the otherhand….yeah that needs a serious makeover in 2022. It just went too fast and most of the blind auditionees we heard sing only once and never saw them again. It was blink and you missed them during the cuts which is the worst edited episode of the year from any tv show i’ve watched. The Knockouts need to change as well with the pick me now approach. Wait till they’ve all performed before you choose who goes through. Just hope Seven take on board the criticism for next year but we will see.

  2. How shocking, just read that this girl is one of Guy’s “Hillsong” mates and surprise – she wins a show he’s a judge on. Is this the 3rd or 4th time someone with a past connection to Guy has won a reality show he’s been on?

  3. I was surprised that I liked this season of the Voice. Less about the coaches. Unlimited chair turns I think needs to be reconsidered (and the associated cut was a little abrupt) but the contestants were good quality. Plus didn’t Guy offer Bella the chance to tour with him. Probably worth more than the EMI deal.

  4. Didn’t see the show deapite promos saying it was going to be the best entertainment in decades. A big call.
I watched The Block folloed by The Newsreader & Traces on ABC

    1. The Newsreader and Traces are both excellent! I’m really enjoying The Newsreader, despite the pedant in me being distracted by multiple era-referencing inaccuracies. That’s just me — it clearly wasn’t their intention to get it all 100% historically accurate 🙂

  5. Well done Bella! She has an amazing voice though Anthony Callea’s rendition of The Prayer is much better. I hope to hear more from G-Nat!on. I really liked their take on Express Yourself by Madonna.

  6. She’s an impressive vocalist and seems like a nice person, so I hope she gets somewhere from
This. 9 previous seasons of The Voice say she won’t, but maybe this will be the exception.
