Denise Drysdale on the mend after nerve disorder

Industry legend Denise Drysdale taken to hospital last week after nerve disorder, which left her in agony.

Industry legend and Studio 10 regular Denise Drysdale is recovering after experiencing a rare nerve disorder.

Entertainment reporter Craig Bennett told viewers Drysdale, 72, was diagnosed with trigeminal neuralgia, which affects the face.

“Last week she was taken to hospital after suffering and unspeakable agony that she described to me like a cross between being struck by a lightning bolt and a white hot poker,” he said.

“Trigeminal is the name of the nerve that stretches through the brain and spreads across the face, neuralgia of course (is) a nerve pain.

“She is slowly on the mend. And I know we all share in wishing our Denise Drysdale the speediest of recoveries. We need our regular dose of Ding Dong.”

Drysdale had recently undergone 3 months of recuperation after suffering a fractured shoulder following filming of Holey Moley, and in recent years undergone a knee replacement, developed blood clots and discovered a detached retina.

She reportedly told Bennett, “I can’t take a trick. It’s one thing after the next a tsunami of medical mishaps.”

Sarah Harris added, She’s just got such a big heart and irrepressible energy. We’re sending her so much love.”
