Returning: Survivor (US)

Two hour premiere of series back in Fiji, is fast-tracked to 9GO!

It’s been 16 months since Jeff Probst snuffed out tribal torches but fans will finally see a new season fast-tracked to 9GO!

Production was originally due to commence in Fiji in March 2020 but was pushed back to 2021. A year later Probst told fans, “The past year has reminded me, and I hope it’s reminded you, that you’ve got to live your life like it’s one big great adventure, and Survivor fulfills that. So I am thrilled to say, I will see you on the island for Survivor 41. Let’s do it!””

While there is no specific theme this season, the cast is composed of 18 new players dividing into three tribes: Luvu, Ua and Yase. Season 41 (and the future 42nd) will be a shortened season, spanning only 26 out of the usual 39 days.

It screens with a 2hr premiere 7:30pm Thursday September 23 on 9GO!, same day as the USA.

  1. Do Channel 9 have some kind of lifetime deal with the US version? Even though it still does quite well for 9Go! you wouldn’t think they’d want to effectively promote what is now a 10 franchise for 30 hours a year.

  2. It’s a shame they’e had to shorten the season, but I’m sure i’ll still enjoy it as mush as I normally do. Short, sharp and to the point, weekly episodes… just how I like my survivor served up!

  3. Thank God! The real Survivor is back. Hopefully no stupid twists and saving contestants for no reason like the Australian Version. Tried to give feedback on their instagram but it got deleted. The gameplay has been so good but let down by stupid twists. Cannot wait for the US version who always get it right!

  4. Great to have it back…..but it is going to be so hard having to wait a week in between eps for a 42 minute ep after our healthy meal of 80 mins or so 3 nights a week for over 2 months….like going on a diet 🙁
