Ryan Corr cast in House of the Dragons

Big coup for Aussie actor in the anticipated Game of Thrones prequel.

Aussie Ryan Corr has been cast in HBO’s House of the Dragon, the much anticipated prequel to Game of Thrones.

He will play Ser Harwin “Breakbones” Strong -said to be the strongest man in the Seven Kingdoms. Ser Harwin is the eldest son to Master of Laws Lyonel Strong (Gavin Spokes) and heir to Harrenhal.

Corr is best known in Australia for Packed to the Rafters, Bloom, Love Child and Holding the Man.

Also joining the cast are Outlander‘s Graham McTavish and David Horovitch, Matthew Needham, Bill Paterson and Gavin Spokes.

Set 200 years before Game of Thrones, previously-announced cast are Paddy Considine as King Viserys Targaryen, Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower, Emma D’Arcy as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, Matt Smith as Prince Daemon Targaryen, Steve Toussaint as Lord Corlys Velaryon, “The Sea Snake,” Rhys Ifans as Otto Hightower, Eve Best as Princess Rhaenys Velaryon, Sonoya Mizuno as Mysaria and Fabien Frankel as Ser Criston Cole.

The show is currently in production in the UK and set for a 2022 release.
