Returning: A Discovery of Witches

First look at the final season of UK drama brimming with witches, vampires and daemons.

“I will make Knox pay…”

A trailer has been released already for the third and final season of the UK drama, A Discovery of Witches.

Based on Deborah Harkness’s All Souls trilogy, the final season is not due until January.

The series is a modern-day love story, set in a world where witches, vampires and daemons secretly live and work alongside humans, hidden in plain sight.

The first season opened with Teresa Palmer’s (Hacksaw Ridge) character Diana Bishop discovering a mystical manuscript in Oxford’s Bodleian Library. The mysterious text jumpstarted Diana’s latent powers and brought her to the attention of vampires, witches, demons and also to Matthew Clairmont played by Matthew Goode (Downton Abbey). While attempting to understand how Diana found the manuscript, the two fall in love and go into hiding.

The second series follows Matthew and Diana as they magically travel back to 1590 where they hope to not only uncover Ashmole 782 in the past, but find Diana a fated teacher for her powers.

The final conclusion will continue to follow our favourite characters Diana and Matthew as they bring the action back to the present day.

  1. After struggling with season one I didn’t mind season two and the predictable time travel theme which was done very well with excellent Elizabethan London CGI and sets, while watching I was always wondering when Dr. Who would show up. Hopefully this series will finish up without too much left unfinished.
