Meet the cast in a ground-breaking change for a worldwide format.

Proud Noongar-Yamatji woman Brooke Blurton features on Season 7 of The Bachelorette this week on 10.

Having appeared in both The Bachelor Season Six and Bachelor In Paradise Season Two she becomes the first franchise lead anywhere in the world to be openly bisexual.

Vying for her affections are 16 male & female singles aged between 23 and 34 in the Warner Bros. series hosted by Osher Günsberg.

Brooke Blurton
26, Youth Social Worker, Victoria / Western Australia
Brooke Blurton is no stranger when it comes to putting her heart on the line. She first appeared on our screens as a contender to secure the ‘Honey Badger’s’ heart in the 2018 season of The Bachelor Australia, but abruptly quit the show towards the end of the season after following her truth. The following year, she appeared on Bachelor In Paradise where she enjoyed a brief summer romance with fellow bachelorette, Alex Nation.
Passionate about her past, heritage and connection to the land, the 26-year-old proud Noongar-
Yamatji woman, who hails from Western Australia, identifies as bisexual and is ready to find her happily ever after.
Brooke said: “I am so ready for this. I’ve done it twice before and now, having the opportunity to choose my person and who I want in my life, is a truly unique and special experience.

Working with vulnerable youth, she is passionate about making a real difference in the lives of people experiencing mental health issues.
Brooke is a facilitator of Aboriginal Mental Health First Aid and is a big advocate of Government Initiatives that help support young people to develop coping skills and manage their behaviour through sport, art and other pursuits.
Incredibly proud of what she has achieved thus far, Brooke is looking for a special someone to share her life with.

Why did you apply for the show?
I’m still waiting to meet the person I want to create and share a life with. I saw Brooke was The Bachelorette and felt really drawn to her. She has many qualities that I am really attracted to, especially her caring nature towards young people.
Have you been in love before?
Yes, once. I think we were meant to help each other grow, but not stay together. He supported me through a very difficult time. We both challenged and supported each other to become better versions of ourselves.
What is one trait that might make Brooke run the other way?
I can be very awkward when I like someone and ramble and or tell stories about nothing that go in circles. I hope the right person adores my awkwardness, rather than runs away from it.

Darvid

25, Vet Receptionist, NSW

I thought I had been in love a few times before, but looking back on it, I think actually I was in lust.

I’ve got so much love and energy for the right person. I’ve created a life that I love: I’m surrounded by the most amazing friends, I’m around animals every day and I make time for a boogie no matter what.

My dream date would be doing something exciting, that gives us a special memory to look back on. I would love to have an animal encounter, a thrill-seeking experience, or even something as simple as going to see a band we both love and having a really good dance.

The amount of time I spend getting lost scrolling on TikTok. I literally cry-laugh scrolling through the app, then quote it until it’s no longer funny anymore.

Holly

Why did you apply for the show?
I applied when I saw Brooke was The Bachelorette. I believe we had a connection when we were in the house together on The Bachelor Australia.
Have you been in love before?
Yes, I have been in love before. My last relationship was incredibly loving and supportive. Even though she wasn’t “the one”, I experienced true love, and it’s taught me who I am, what I want, and how to be the best partner I can be.
What do you have to offer a potential partner?
I recognise that in a relationship, there are days and weeks where things get mundane, and life gets in the way. In those times, I am resilient and supportive and won’t give up when things get tough. I am open- minded and always willing to learn and better myself.

  1. I really don’t think it will rate highly, going by the very unreliable and informal method of asking people I work with if they’re interested in watching!

  2. Do you see a correlation between the lack of comments and traffic to a story like this and its overnight ratings?

    I’d love to know what the site’s analytics might tell us about declining popularity of franchises.

    1. I wish it was that simple. I’ve learned over time I can rarely predict what will attract comments, so I don’t write with that in mind. But to answer your question… the show hasn’t started yet. “Meet the Casts” are regularly big traffic drivers when viewers begin to watch, but less so with comments per se. All quite complex!

  3. They should market this as “The Last Ever Bachelorette”.
    Put some FOMO into their marketing. Let it finish on a high and stop another network from rebooting it next year.
    They couldn’t seriously be doing another season next year?

    …that said it wouldn’t stop Seven from pouncing.
