A participant in the upcoming season of Married at First Sight has been dropped from the show following the discovery of offensive social media posts.
The Daily Mail reports Simon Blackburn’s social media included “vile homophobic and misogynistic language.”
Blackburn featured in an untelevised trailer for MAFS, but a Nine spokesperson confirmed he had been edited out of the program after the network was made aware of his behaviour.
“When unacceptable social media content was discovered in relation to Simon Blackburn we immediately took steps to remove him from the program. We won’t be making further comment”.
Reports suggest he had already completed the TV wedding and was into honeymoon scenes for the Endemol Shine series. His on-screen ‘wife’ is expected to be re-matched with another groom.
On social media this week Blackburn referred to TikTok videos as “reposts or screenshots of lives from last year! Not my current thoughts or mindset!”
“No further comment will be given! I’ve got Covid, let me rest!” he added.

I remember something similar happening years ago on The Biggest Loser. An incident during filming and one of the contestants was removed and completely edited out of the show.
I’ve never been interested in this concept; it’s like a clinical Love Island without sun and sand.
I’m waiting for this to fall away into the reality bin. But then Seven will probably pick it up and redo.
So she will re-enter a couole of weeks later with a new guy?
Bizarre.
Highlights how fake the whole thing g is if they just film a new wedding with somebody who has already gone through the process. Should rename it Married a Second Time at the First Sight of Trouble.
