Love Island finalists split

Couple concedes true TV romance wasn't going to work out and part ways.

Love is fleeting in the Love Island Villa….

2021 finalists Jess Velkovski and Aaron Waters have confirmed their split just days after the final episode aired.

Actual production on the Nine show finished a few weeks ago, meaning both have had a small amount of time to develop their relationship.

The couple agreed to a split after a long phone call and Aaron agreeing with a message by Jess it was not working.

The news of comes after an alleged “filthy look” from Aaron during a Love Island game.

“We still had issues seeing eye to eye on a situation in the Villa,” he said. “I wanted to move past it, and at least thought we could grow from it, but there was no real growth there, so I just felt like it was best to part ways.

“I tried to look at her perspective when I felt like that wasn’t getting reciprocated. In ways I can understand her but in ways we just sort of didn’t mix well.

“There was a lot of friction, there was a lot of tension. I felt like I wasn’t getting anything back. I did feel like it was stopping us and then moving forward out of the Villa we had some time together and it kept coming up and it wasn’t really changing on her side so I felt like it was dragging us down.

“In my mind it was miniscule, so I don’t think it should be brought up all the time. For it to come up again, if we can’t move past this sort of thing, what’s going to happen when something big does come in front of us and how are we going to overcome that.”

Jess also believed their disagreements since leaving the Villa were a major factor which led to their breakup.

“It was obviously really hard to have the conversation [to break up] but we haven’t been seeing eye to eye on a lot since exiting the Villa,” she explained. “We’re not agreeing on a lot of stuff as well and obviously when the relationship is rocky, thinking about the future. We were just coming to terms that it wasn’t going to work.”

Both remain on good terms and have wished each other well.

The Nine show was won by Mitch Hibberd & Tina Provis who decided to split the $50,000 prize.

  1. Didnt think they would work ,I thought Jess was imature and couldnt communicate well, like it was her way or highway. Arron would suit the young blonde that came in last, cant recall if her name was Allisha or not……good luck to them all..

      1. Sorry still confused

The multiple endings on voice or BB makes sense – it’s one final vote at the end.

But Love Island will have the voting occur regularly – normally every week
