Nick Riewoldt wins Celebrity MasterChef 2021

Former AFL player takes out $100,000 for charity after serving up a near-perfect dish.

Former AFL player Nick Riewoldt Celebrity MasterChef 2021.

He wins $100,000 for his chosen charity, Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision, named after his late sister.

The challenge involved a 4 hour cook of a Martin Benn-created Metropolis dessert, a deadly, contemporary mix of chocolate, mousse, biscuit, cherry, coconut and more.

Despite issues mid-cook Riewoldt persisted and served up a near-perfect dish.

He scored 38 out of a possible 40 points, defeating Tilly Ramsay on 34 points and Colette Dinnigan on 30 points.

There is an emotional element in terms of the charity that I’m playing for and this will make a tangible difference to people’s lives,” he said.

“I finally get to lift some silverware, that’s been a missing chapter. I’ve been a part of teams for a long time, and this is one of the great teams that I’ve felt privileged to be part of.”

10 greenlit the series, its second Celebrity version, mid year when border lockdowns impacted on other production schedules.

  1. I’ve never watched a full series of Masterchef before but really liked some of the participants so decided to give it a go. Was really lovely to see all the camaraderie even in the final they were helping each other.

Great series. Although I don’t know why they were all saying they weren’t good cooks!

  2. I was hoping that Tilly would win but was glad that Nick won its a shame that they couldn’t have had their families watching the winner announced live on Skype or FaceTime

  3. Rebecca had been my favourite to win but after her last dish I chose Nick. He’s a genuine nice guy and consistent all through the ten weeks.

    Well deserved win!

Can’t wait for Foodies and Favourites next year!!

  4. I chimed in and out of this series but got quite interested from the top 6 onwards. They appeared to be a close knit group (especially Rebecca and Tilly) and quite down to earth celebrities. My favourite episode was at Vue de monde with executive chef Hugh Allen – someone get him on screen more regularly!
