Rob ‘Belvedere’ Mascara’s limerick tribute for Bert

Famed floor manager Rob ‘Belvedere’ Mascara spoke to Today Extra this morning, remembering his 14 years with Bert Newton on Good Morning Australia.

Mascara was just 19 years old when he started working on the show.

“You’d never know what he was going to do. You never knew what he was going to say. Nothing was scripted. We basically had a rundown… we knew he was coming on. And that was it,” he said.

‘Belvedere’ has also coined a final limerick tribute for the Master…

"A performer beyond compare, it's hard to believe he's not there. The years at the peak, his charm, wit and cheek were genuine… unlike his hair."
