If you’ve been wondering when SBS would confirm its Upfronts for 2022, you’re going to have to wait a little longer.
An SBS spokesperson tells TV Tonight, “SBS have decided to host an in-person Upfronts event in early 2022.
“Stay tuned for more details to come soon and in the meantime, look out for exciting upcoming commissions including Could You Survive on the Breadline?, A Girls Guide to Hunting, Fishing and Wild Cooking, more Eurovision: Australia Decides artists, Framed and much more.

It looks like the government funded the SBS is trying to become more commercial than commercial TV with its ‘in-person events for advertisers’ but does it also make a mockery of the political ideology involved in not allowing the ABC to feature advertising to broadcast selected programs as well, especially sports broadcasting, which for a public broadcaster is unusual when the ABC is compared to equivalent public broadcasters overseas.
In my opinion I believe the SBS has worked the system they were presented with reasonably well, their diversity of programming has been good lately and more positively for them the SBS have kept themselves aloof from ABC politics.
Their annual report says $130 million.
How much as revenue does SBS book across its suite of channels annually?
