Family Guy, American Dad moving to 7flix.

New seasons move to new home in 2022.

Seven sources reveal new seasons of animation titles Family Guy and American Dad will move from 7mate to 7flix in 2022.

The Simpsons Season 33 began last week on Disney+ with Seven advising it does not have any second window licence as yet.

Disney+ has been contacted for comment.

  1. Got to love vintage Simpsons on 7Flix. Cropped to 16:9, SD videotape masters upscaled to HD (as opposed to rescanning the film stock from the classic years), and then downscaled back to SD for local broadcast.

The reframing of the masters currently in circulation (that are outright stretched where cropping is impracticable) are absolutely atrocious. As if it wasn’t bad enough that the show has been terrible for nearly three whole quarters of its illustrious run; they just couldn’t leave the classics alone either.

The best I can hope for the franchise moving forward is for the classic seasons to be remastered and restored, the old-fashioned way, assuming that the film elements have been (fingers crossed) archived for prosperity. Some of the animation cells in circulation over the decades are just stunning. I can only imagine how a proper restoration of the show’s best years would look in the right hands.

  2. I don’t know why did these two shows had to move from 7Mate in glorious HD to 7Flix in glorious SD.
Also I doubt this will happen anytime soon but I think 7flix needs to go to MPEG4HD so they can air all of their shows including Family Guy and American Dad in HD.
