Golden Globe Awards 2022: nominees

Succession, Squid Game, The Morning Show, Only Murders in the Building, Pose & Lupin amongst nominees.

Succession, Squid Game, The Morning Show, Only Murders in the Building, Ted Lasso, The Great, Lupin, Pose and Hacks are amongst nominees in the 79th Golden Globe Awards.

Nominations were announced overnight in Los Angeles.

Australian nominees include Nicole Kidman for Being the Ricardos, Sarah Snook for Succession, and Kodi Smit-McPhee with NZ director Jane Campion for The Power of the Dog.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association noted this year it has diversified its member ranks, revamped its bylaws, banned gifts, restricted paid travel and started undergoing significant foundational change.

  1. The Great…. such a good adult entertainment comedy! Season 2 even better from first one. Hacks the best new comedy/drama last year. Sad that This is us is not nominated…

  2. How The Morning Show is nominated I’ll never understand. It was a train wreck of a season 2. So bad I couldn’t stop watching it although I’ll not be watching S3.

      1. Succession is not that worthy of nominations either in my opinion, though enjoyable in parts there’s nothing classic in this seasons story arc and just method acting for most of the stars who are very familiar with their roles. The same could be said for Ted Lasso, which for me was a struggle to watch after an enjoyable first season. I would imagine that Squid Game was listed because of the media hype it received. Those viewers who watch a lot of Netflix’s Korean shows (like me) wont see much that is new or exceptional in the Squid Game production apart from the publicity it received . The various studios PR people must have been busy.
