Long-awaited TV adaptation of hit Xbox game finally releases a first look.

A trailer has been released for the long-awaited TV adaptation of Halo -first raised as a project in 2013.

Based on the hit Xbox game it follows Pablo Schrieber as Master Chief, the lead protagonist in several of the “Halo” video games, who is a green helmeted super-soldier known as a Spartan. Natascha McElhone will play Dr. Catherine Halsey, the creator of the Spartans soldiers, and Jen Taylor will voice Cortana, the most advanced AI in human history who is potentially the key to the survival of the human race.

Bokeem Woodbine, Shabana Azmi, Bentley Kalu, Natasha Culzac, Kate Kennedy, Danny Sapani, Olive Gray and Charlie Murphy round out the cast.

It screens on Paramount+ in 2022.

Halo was a long term pet project for Peter Jackson who had his ‘Halo Chronicles’ which were released on You Tube, his creative team developed weapons and specialised vehicles and other designs for a proposed major feature film to be directed by Neill Blomkamp, the project fell apart because of studio politics and it was decided to instead turn Blomkamp’s short film ‘Alive in Joburg’ into a feature film retitled ‘District 9’ in 2009.
    I’m sure Peter Jackson will be watching this new Paramount+ series with interest and wonder what could have been.
