Former AFL coach Nathan Buckley fainted in I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here in scenes which screened last night.
Footage shot several months ago showed Buckley collapsed when walking to the toilet with cast members Poh Ling Yeow and Maria Thattil calling for production medics.
Buckley, 49, soon regained conscious and said, “It’s low blood sugar, which is standard for me, low heart rate, which is standard for me. I get a bit of light-headedness when I get up quickly even in my normal life. And then because I’ve got cramps, that brings your heart rate down again and then it gets to a point where you’ve gone under threshold.”
He added, “I accepted two jelly beans to get the bloody sugar back up.”

Probably had too much sugar and came down, these guys haven’t stopped eating so far this week.
This seems the kind of thing that should have been closely monitored from the start. Who dropped the ball here?
Personal responsibility….
How can personal responsibility be exercised exactly when the production team controls their food, when they can rest, etc..
They have little to no control over their own lives when filming, that gets handed over to ITV Studios
Having wildly fluctuating blood sugar (glucose) levels it’s my responsibility to monitor mine every 3 hours or so myself. So, “who dropped the ball”? I guess he did. Presumably he’s on medication(s) for his heart. It’s all his responsibility.
As it’s a TV show where they get told to do things that are unusual or involve exertion and other risky things, I would expect some extra vigilance would come courtesy of the production crew. But you’re right, he should also be keeping check too.
