NCIS, Chicago Fire hit by COVID impact.

Omicron is causing US shows to shut down or delay production.

Rising COVID cases in the US are impacting on series production including the NCIS franchise and Chicago Fire.

Chicago Fire was suspended after several cast and crew members tested positive for COVID-19. A source close to the production confirmed that operations have ceased for the moment “out of an abundance of caution.”

NCIS also paused production after COVID-19 was detected among cast members and those who directly interact with them. Additionally, NCIS: LA put a stop on restarting its production due to the current surge, holding off on resuming operations until February. It currently has a buffer of episodes.

Saturday Night Live and The View were also impacted, amongst others.

Further production delays and shutdowns across Hollywood TV production are expected even with most casts and crews fully vaccinated.

LA County has most recently reported over 26,000 daily cases with California averaging 55,000 a day.
