So much hairspray, green screen, and white jumpsuits... Midday circa 1985.

Around 1985 Simon Gallaher performed the stupendous Electric Dreams accompanied live by the Geoff Harvey Orchestra and Tony Bartuccio dancers for Midday.
So much hairspray, green screen, and white jumpsuits, but they don’t make them like this anymore.
Wait for the dance break.
Take that Eurovision….

Apparently, according to Simon himself, it was actually from the “Mike Walsh Tonight Show”.
Fair enough, thanks.
This is gold! The multiple lyrical flubs just adds to the experience 🙂
Vocal is spot on tho.
Amazing! Those were the days x
Wow! Look back at the cast of thousands paid to produce hours of daytime TV like that including orchestra and ridiculously paid host. And compare it to the budget airline offering of today.
Are you sure it’s not a clip from C31’s Good Afternoon Adelaide?
oh my gosh! This sums up so much about ’80s TV variety!
Apart from everything else around this clip, imagine any daytime TV show these days having a budget and logistics for a dozen (or more) dancers. Money clearly wasn’t an object then!
Love it !
