Hamish Blake, Zoë Foster Blake join Celebrity Gogglebox.

EXCLUSIVE: Foxtel has revealed the first two cast members for its upcoming Celebrity Gogglebox special.

“I’m delighted to confirm that Hamish Blake and Zoë Foster Blake have agreed to be part of our first Celebrity Gogglebox special,” Foxtel’s Executive Director of Television, Brian Walsh tells TV Tonight.

“You heard it here first.”

The special will kick off the first of two Gogglebox seasons this year on Foxtel / 10.

Securing Hamish Blake is a major coup for Foxtel given he is signed to Nine as host of Lego Masters -both shows are executive produced by Endemol Shine Head of Comedy, David McDonald.

Rumours have been swirling around cast for months but Walsh explains that getting the casting mix right was crucial for both Foxtel / 10.

“We agreed right at the very beginning that this would not be a self-serving, promotional exercise for Foxtel or 10. It’s easy to throw celebrities at a show. There’s a lot of that on Australian commercial television. But we were only interested in the A-Team for Celebrity Gogglebox,” he continues.

More names are set to be announced ahead of the special screening in early March.

“What we’ve gathered is a fantastic line-up. We’re confident it’s going to be popular, and I would hope that it becomes a regular fixture of the Gogglebox season.”
