Producers of Shaun Micallef’s Mad as Hell have made a post-broadcast edit to this week’s episode on iview.
Anyone wondering why last night's #MadAsHell was not repeated today and why it's gone from iview: ABC's Editorial Policy required a small cut so it's back in the edit suite being operated on. I'm assured it'll be back on its feet on iview shorty and repeated tonight as usual.

An ABC spokesperson told TV Tonight, “We removed an animation that was explaining superannuation which referenced a shark attack. It was removed in deference to the family of the victim in NSW.
“It was purely coincidental, however it was felt it could have been construed as insensitive.”
Mad as Hell is recorded on Tuesday night, a day before a tragedy in Sydney’s Little Bay Beach, which took place around 4:30pm yesterday.
The last fatal shark attack in Sydney was in 1963, at Sugarloaf Bay in Middle Harbour.

I think this is the right thing to do. Did 9 go ahead with their screening of Jaws last night? They’ve also got Jaws 2 and The Shallows next week.
Shark attacks are a regular feature of life in Perth, either in the Swan river or off the coastal beaches every couple of years or so. Unsure why eastern staters are so sensitive about this being filmed as it will provide valuable information for marine science as eye witness accounts are notoriously inaccurate for any event.
Some of us have unfortunately clicked on videos online which show unedited footage of the attack on news sites. It makes it so horribly real knowing that man died in a horribly violent way. It wouldn’t be right to show a film about a shark attack as entertainment the night after. Be very careful on any videos which play within online articles.
