Plus more 1883 episodes and another saga from the Yellowstone universe, 1932.

Amongst the announcements stateside this week by Paramount was a second season renewal for the upcoming Halo series.

David Wiener — who created Brave New World and was a co-executive producer on Fear the Walking Dead and Homecoming — is also officially joining the series as executive producer and showrunner.

The early renewal is a strong vote of confidence for the adaptation of Microsoft’s $6 billion-dollar blockbuster gaming franchise for the Xbox, which has been in the works as a series since 2014.

It premieres in Australia on March 24.

Meanwhile Yellowstone prequel series 1883 has seen additional episodes ordered at Paramount Plus.

Another Taylor Sheridan-created origin-story following the Dutton Family called 1932 will follow a new generation of Duttons “during the time of western expansion, Prohibition and the Great Depression.”

The show follows the Dutton family as they embark on a journey west through the Great Plains toward the last bastion of untamed America. It is a stark retelling of western expansion and an intense study of one family fleeing poverty to seek a better future in America’s promised land — Montana. It is executive produced by Sheridan, John Linson, Art Linson, David Glasser, Ron Burkle and Bob Yari.
