Seven has confirmed Season 33 of The Amazing Race to screen from Monday February 21.
This season was disrupted by COVID for over a year and half, but eventually resumed safely including with a special TAR chartered Boeing 757.
Seven Head of Scheduling Brook Hall recently told TV Tonight, the network had been discussing if the show was worth another big push.
“Do we give it one more prominent whirl?” he mused.
“It’s coming straight out of the Winter Olympics in primetime. It won’t be late night, it won’t be multichannel and double episodes to try and catch up.”
Update: Double episode 9:15pm Monday February 21 on Seven

If they want to give the show a ‘big push’, don’t have the second episode ending after 11pm. That’s not going to help it.
I wonder how the chartered plane plays into this… half the excitement was seeing teams miss the first flight.
They all get on the same plane for next legs, but have staggered starts at the challenges
I’m glad it is returning!
I know that it had struggled in recent years to rate well, but maybe it will be enjoyed by more, but with the fragmented opportunities in viewing habits these days, I’m not hopeful. But I know I will enjoy it anyway! Fingers crossed
So great they’re pitching for another whirl, long live TAR
Just checked the TVGuide and it appears two new episodes after SAS on Monday 21st.
This is awesome. Love TAR. I’m guessing it will go 9pm after SAS. But the answer is always yes for me.
Please not 9pm. It is one of the few shows that can fit at 7.30, for the whole family. No wonder they (someone?) thinks it is not holding its place if it keeps getting relegated to unsociable hours.
Do you give it another whirl? Um yes, the answer to that is always yes.
It’s really in relation to whether the show can hold on main channel.. last few seasons have been quite low.
