Seven nabs first week of 2022 ratings

Winter Olympics gives Seven every night and every city in the first survey for 2022. ABC finishes third.

Seven has won the first week of 2022 ratings.

While numbers for the Winter Olympics can’t touch Tokyo’ Summer games, they have nevertheless kept viewers watching until late night. That resulted in Seven leading on all 7 nights in all 5 cities.

ABC has also snatched third place, beating 10 on every night except Monday & Tuesday.

Update: I’m advised Winter Olympics are not traditionally removed from annual results.

  1. I’m sure Seven would love for Winter Olympics to be included and for Australian Open (program rankings – which fell over three weeks including one ratings) to be excluded and I’ll bet Nine will do the opposite.

I know summer shares have always been excluded, but not program rankings which are colander year and rightfully so as some of the biggest events occur such as NYE Midnight Fireworks and the tennis. And as for Winter Olympics, they’re still Olympics. Surely other networks will be excluding them, what happened last in 2018?

  2. Good old Network 10 ,will they ever be anything than a one show only network.
I have to say I am surprised at the ratings for the games but it has done pretty well albeit at a considerable cost one would think.
