Seven on track to take first ratings week

Viewers drawn to Winter Olympics and Australia Behind Bars, while Leigh Sales makes her 7:30 announcement.

Seven’s Winter Olympics performed consistently last night giving the network another win, with a first week victory in sight.

Winter Olympics averaged Night: 514,000 / Evening: 513,000 / Late 444,000.

Australia Behind Bars was the top entertainment show at 479,000 and looks to be a strong new brand for Nine, even outranking Home & Away earlier at 471,000.

Earlier 7:30 with Leigh Sales’ announcement drew 453,000 then RBT (451,000), Foreign Correspondent (290,000), Bondi Rescue (246,000), Territory Cops (210,000) and Scenic Coastal Walks with Kate Humble (144,000).

Elsewhere Q+A returned to 252,000 then Law & Order: SVU (168,000 / 147,000) and The Long Call (125,000).

Seven network easily won Thursday with 35.4% then Nine 27.8%, ABC 15.4%, 10 13.7% and SBS 7.7%.

Seven News was #1 at 932,000 / 893,000. The Chase only ran in 2 cities at 173,000.

Nine News was 793,000 / 763,000 then A Current Affair (530,000) and Hot Seat (400,000 / 267,000).

ABC News won its slot at 588,000. The Princes & the Press was 159,000 with The Drum at 146,000.

The Project was 306,000 / 200,000 for 10 then 10 News First (260,000 / 166,000).

On SBS it was SBS World News (131,000 / 116,000),  Mastermind (61,000) and Incredible Journeys With Simon Reeve (37,000).

Death in Paradise led multichannels at 123,000 for 9GEM.

    1. With Saturdays generally being low for Ten in recent times, i think it may be safe to say that the ABC will come 3rd for the first week of ratings, and 10 coming in 4th. Not a good start for 10.

      Bondi Rescue and Territory Cops didn’t help 10 last night, unfortunately.
