Airdate: Healing for Hillcrest tribute match

The AFL will stage a Healing for Hillcrest tribute match today, in support of the community of Devonport following the recent tragedy at Hillcrest Primary School.

FOX Footy is screening the event and donating all advertising proceeds to Hillcrest Community Public Fund.

AFL players from Hawthorn, Richmond and North Melbourne also ran football clinics yesterday.

Hawthorn and Richmond will face off on Saturday afternoon at Devonport Oval, with Tasmanian greats Nick Riewoldt and Alastair Lynch to feature in a special 40-minute pre-game show, which will air at 12:30pm AEDT on Fox Footy.

Among the special guests will be AFL CEO Gillon McLachlan, with all funds raised from the match to go directly to the Hillcrest Community Public Fund, which has been set up to provide ongoing care for the community affected by the tragedy at Hillcrest Primary School.

There will also be a special tribute and ceremony pre-game, which will include both clubs forming a guard of honour.

FOX Footy’s extensive coverage will feature a QR code which will aid donations throughout the entire broadcast.
