  1. Here In WA, Channel 7 aired the first 90 minutes of the AFL on the primary channel before moving to 7mate at 5pm. WA doesn’t have Daylight saving but 7 Perth decided to air the AFL on the primary channel from 3:30-5. While in Sydney, 7 aired the AFL on the primary channel from 830pm until finish. This was a risky decision to air the final 85 minutes of the AFL on the primary channel. Unfortunately this sees ratings plummet further losing to MAFS, and ABC Programs in SYD. I cannot believe why 7 Sydney want to move AFL to primary channel. It is
It would have been better if the AFL was shown in full on 7mate in NSW, QLD & WA instead of Channel 7. That way it will stop messing with their scheduling in WA. 7 Sydney shows better ratings and venue by having AFL (which involves no NSW teams) on 7mate. NSW is a NRL state, while AFL generates seldom interest.
Sadly 548k metro viewers is low (though AFL ranks No 1 in Melbourne).

  2. I’m genuinely wondering why people are watching MAFS. What is the attraction to people attempting to have a ‘marriage’ on TV?
It just seems like sensationalistic relationship drama.

  3. Rather than heading off to WA, the project should get itself off to Sydney for a few weeks. 80K viewers at 7pm in that city is dire. Tipping Point in the middle of the afternoon gets more eyeballs in that market.

      1. Yeah, and happy to be corrected on this. But, I’m pretty sure the AFL is on Seven Mate in Syd and Bris, so isn’t taking up valuable real estate on the main channel like the Project is for 10

        1. Normally that would be the case, but yesterday here in QLD, footy coverage started from 5:30pm on Seven Mate. Then, before the start of the second half, the game coverage switched to main Seven once Home & Away finished at 7:35pm. It may have been different in NSW with them having daylight saving.

  4. Great for us northerners to see Peter Hitchener on 9 Late News. Wishing this could be regular but guess last night was due to Michael Thompson still presenting the STW9 6pm News there when the Late News started here.

    1. Yes, I was surprised too (here in Syd). The reporter (said) crossed back to ‘Peter’ and I was expecting Peter Overton, but it was Peter Hitchener.
