Airdate: Angelyne

Drama on Angelyne the billboard queen, stars Emmy Rossum and Martin Freeman.

Angelyne, inspired by a true story, examines influencer culture before reality TV and social media.

The series is coming to Stan in May, screening same day as the U.S.

It stars Emmy Rossum (Shameless), with Martin Freeman (The Responder), Alex Karpovsky (Homecoming), Hamish Linklater (Gaslit), Charlie Rowe (Rocketman) and Lukas Gage (Euphoria).

From the producer of Mr. Robot and Homecoming, the series is inspired by the true story of Angelyne – a media personality who rose to prominence in 1984 after the appearance of a series of iconic billboards around Los Angeles. Based on The Hollywood Reporter’s investigative article, Angelyne is about fame, identity, survival, billboards, Corvettes, lingerie, men, women, women teasing men, men obsessed with women, West Hollywood, crystals, UFOs, and most importantly of all, the self-proclaimed Rorschach test in pink, glow-in-the-dark queen of the universe, Angelyne.

Angelyne is executive produced by showrunner Allison Miiller (13 Reasons Why, 17 Again) and co-director Lucy Tcherniak (Station Eleven, The End of the F***ing World), and also executive produced by Emmy Rossum via Composition 8 Company, Sam Esmail via UCP-based Esmail Corp, Chad Hamilton via Anonymous Content, and The Hollywood Reporter. Consulting producers include Gary Baum, who wrote the article which the series is based off. Alongside Lucy Tcherniak is co-director Matt Spicer.
